Philippine Partnership First for Smart Grid Solution

First Philec’s president Luis Trinidad and Ionics Inc. president Raymond Qua have entered into an agreement to manufacture and launch the Advanced Data Analytics – Transformer Monitoring Unit (ADA-TMU) in the Philippines.

The ADA-TMU equips the distribution transformers, both the single-phase pole mounted & three-phase pad mounted versions, with Internet-of-Things (IoT) & intelligence capabilities. Furthermore, the ADA-TMU will power the ADA-Transformer System (TS) enabling remote asset management and several key features instrumental in supporting the 4 D's of Energy Transition.

This co-development is a significant first for the companies showcasing respective technological capabilities and a noteworthy synergy.

According to Trinidad, “First Philec’s strong transformer expertise and Ionics’ smart electronics design and manufacturing forge an unmatched advantage.  The ADA-TMU is just the first solution for our long-term smart-grid thrust. With Ionics as partner, many more initiatives will be undertaken.”

The Ionics management has equally expressed their excitement towards ongoing developments in this sector. “Ionics will remain a steadfast partner of First Philec. The Smart Grid development is not just for the country but for other parts of the world propelling this joint solution on the global stage, “ Qua remarked.

Ionics will start manufacturing products for First Philec this year.
